Description

'Thelma' is a lightly scented, semi-double to double rose that grows in clusters.  The blooms, with little or no fragrance, are a showy coral and deep pink with a touch of yellow towards the center.  Although it does have thorns, they are few, large and very visible.

Introduced in 1927, this showy rose was named after the breeder's granddaughter who lived in New Zealand. 

This rose has a resistance to mildew.  As with all roses, good air circulation with help prevent diseases.  Pruning should be done to ensure that air circulation is sufficient.

Typically, blooms in spring or summer and may scattered blooms after the initial flush.  Pruning can be accomplished after flowering has finished.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  Insects that may affect this plant are thrips, whiteflies, caterpillars, aphids and spider mites.  Precautions should be taken to prevent powdery mildew, blight, and black spot.
