Description

Sweet Juliet® is a double apricot-pink yellow rose from the English Breeder David Austin who named it after a famous Shakespeare character.  It has a dense habit with a 3 ft (0.91 m) spread.  It requires regular watering, pruning, and being a heavy feeder, fertilizing to maintain a quality appearance.  Best flowering will occur by planting in rich, well-drained sandy soil in the full sun.  Pruning in the late fall or early winter and protect it from winter wind damage.  To maintain an attractive shape some minor pruning can be done in the early fall just as the plant leafs out.  Major pruning should be done in early spring as the leaves begin to green.

The fragrance from the blooms vary as the plant ages, starting out with a tea rose scent to a peachy-citrus scent.

Sweet Juliet is a repeat bloomer, blooming takes place in flushes from late spring to fall.  Upright branches with lush green foliage and medium-sized, double, shallow cupped lowers in shades of apricot.

Insects, Diseases and Other Plant Problems:  This plant has good disease resistance for a rose.  It may be susceptible to aphids, caterpillars, deer, rabbits, and scale insects.  Diseases may include downy mildew, powdery mildew, rose black spot and rose rust. For full information on common pests and diseases, please see the Rosa page.
