Description

Lemon Fizz is a hybrid shrub rose in the Rosaceae family bred by Tim Hermann Kordes of Germany and released to the United States in 2014. Parentage is Unnamed Seedling × Unnamed Seedling.

The short shrub is upright and bushy and grows 3-4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide in full sun in amended well-drained moist soil. Prune in late winter to early spring.

The 2-3 inch wide single to semi-double vibrant yellow flowers are fade resistant,  have no fragrance and 9-16 petals. They appear mostly solitary or in small clusters and repeat blooms during the season in flushes. The foliage is medium glossy green on stems with prickles.

Use this shrub in the border, in small groups, as a low hedge or in a container and along walkways. Will work in a pollinator, cutting or cottage garden.

Was chosen for the Anerkannte Deutcher Rose or ADR award in Germany in 2015.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  Good disease resistance. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
