- Description
-
Hybridized by Tom Caruth and introduced by Weeks Roses in 2007, 'In the Mood' is a Hybrid Tea rose cultivar shrub in the Rosaceae (rose) family with a mild tea fragrance.
Blooming in flushes throughout the season, regular cutting will encourage the flushes to increase. As this rose blooms on new wood, pruning should be done in the early spring by pruning all the canes to 6" tall. This will give a fresh start for the spring garden. Remove dead or damaged branches periodically during the growing season.
Plant at the same level as the surrounding soil, ensuring to leave the crown uncovered.
The mildly fragrant double flowers will hold their brilliant red color regardless to the weather conditions.
Although it can take some shade, full sun will promote higher quality plants and quicker flowering.
Filling out to the ground eliminates the need for placing other plants in front. As the plant ages and becomes more established, it will have vigor and vitality.
Insects, Diseases and Other Plant Problems: No notable issues.
