Description

Four of July is a hybrid large-flowered climbing rose in the Rosaceae family bred by Tom Carruth of the United States and released by Weeks Wholesale Rose Grower in 1999. Parentage is 'Altissimo' x 'Roller Coaster'. Introduced as 'Crazy For You' in the UK.

This climber will grow 10-14 feet tall and 2-6 feet wide and can be grown as a shrub in northern climates. Plant in full sun in amended well-drained moist garden soil.

The fragrant flowers are ruffled, velvety red with white stripes, 4-5 inches wide and 10-15 petals. They are produced in profusion in large clusters with good repeat blooming throughout the season. Leaves are dark glossy green on stems with prickles.

Was named the All-America Rose Selections in 1999. Also received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Use this rose on any vertical surface as a wall, trellis or fence in the cutting or cottage garden.
