Rosa 'Don Juan' is a vigorous, large flowered climbing rose. Pruning during the first two years in the garden can hamper the progress of the plant. Allow the canes to develop for this time period. 'Don Juan' can be grown in light shade, however, growing in full sun will give you the best flower production and disease resistance. Water regularly and thoroughly. Avoid overhead watering. Good air circulation is critical for the overall health of your plant, its aids in disease prevention or control. Keeping the plant area free of fallen and possibly diseased leaves will also deter diseases.
An excellent rose to grow along or against a structure such as walls. Reblooming can be encouraged by removing spent blooms.
