Description

'Belinda's Dream' is a hybrid shrub rose in the rose family (Rosaceae) introduced in Texas in 1992 by Dr. Robert Basye and named after the daughter of a friend. Parentage is Jersey Beauty × Tiffany.

This shrub will grow 4-5 feet tall and wide in an upright bushy form. Plant in full sun in moist well-drained fertile soil. Prune in late winter to remove dead and diseased canes and control size. Avoid crowding and overhead watering to help prevent diseases. Bred in Texas, it is very heat tolerant.

The double pink flowers have 41-100 petals with a moderate raspberry fragrance. It will bloom in flushes throughout the season.  The foliage is an attractive blue-green and the canes have prickles.

It was the first rose named a Texas Superstar® and received the Earth Kind ™ designation.

Use this shrub in the border, cutting garden, in small groups and in a formal or informal garden.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  Cool, damp weather can bring on some blackspot. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
