Description

'Delmur' is a hybrid floribunda climber in the rose family (Rosaceae) bred by André Delbard-Chabert of France and released in 1966. Parentage is Ténor × Unnamed Seedling.

This climber will grow 7-15 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide. Plant in full sun to partial shade in amended well-drained moist soil. Prune in late winter.

The 4- 5 inch wide red flowers with gold stamens have 5-7 petals and a mild clove fragrance. They appear mostly solitary or in small clusters in flushes throughout the season. Glossy dark green foliage is on stems with prickles.

Use this rose on verticle surfaces as a fence, trellis or arbor. It can also be pruned to use as a shrub. Grow in the cutting, cottage or pollinator garden.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Good disease resistance. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.

The Clemson Cooperative Extension Home and Garden Information Center has a factsheet on common rose diseases as well as a factsheet on insects and other related pests.
