'Delmur,' which is marked under the Trade Designation Altissimo, is a rare red climbing rose. It has an upright habit with blood-red single flowers on new wood. It is hardy and heat tolerant. Its leaves are deep green and leathery. It has good disease resistance and makes an excellent cut flower. It free flowers throughout the spring and summer. Plant it in the full sun. It blooms all season long on both new and old wood. Pruning can be done in the spring to promote new growth.
A light clove fragrance is emitted.
