Description

Statice is a herbaceous perennial or annual from Mediterranean areas. The flower is often used in dried arrangements. In zones higher than 8 it can be used as an annual. Bloom time is during the summer. All parts of the plant are downy and the flowers come in various colors.

Statice does best in sandy to loam well-drained soils in full sun and is drought tolerant once established. Do not over-water to prevent root and crown rot. Use in a rock garden, in the border, in a cutting garden or in containers.
