Juniper chinensis 'Angelica Blue' is a dense, low-growing, spreading evergreen shrub cultivar. It grows 5 to 6 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide, with an arching and horizontal habit, moderate height, and dense branching. This cultivar is one of the low-growing junipers admired for its attractive, glaucous, bright blue-green or silvery-blue needle-like foliage. Like all junipers, this plant is dioecious, with separate male and female shrubs. The male shrub produces pollen cones, and the female shrub, if pollinated, produces blue-berry-like cones. This cultivar is a member of the cypress family (Cupressaceae)
Grows best in full sun, but it will tolerate partial shade. It is adaptable to a variety of moist, well-drained soil types. Pruning is not generally required. The berry-like cones attract birds, but it is deer- and rabbit-resistant. Drought-tolerant once established and is moderately salt-tolerant.
