Description

Angel's Fishing Rod is a flowering perennial in the Iris family and is native to South Africa and grows from corms. The mounding grass-like foliage grows to about 2 feet tall and wide and is evergreen in warmer winter climates. During early to late summer, 5-foot arching spikes of nodding bell-shaped flowers appear in shades of pink to white. It may be slow to establish and once established doesn't like to be moved.

Grow Angel's Fishing Rod in rich moist well-drained soils in full sun. When planting in clay or sandy soil, be sure to amend with plenty of humus. Supply supplemental water during a drought. Use as an accent, specimen, in mass plantings or a container. Appropriate for coastal gardens.
