Description

Brazillian Bellflower is a showy, partially evergreen, perennial shrub in the mallow family, native to Brazil. It has showy, red and yellow flowers that appear in late spring. Some benefits of this plant are that it is easy-to-grow, attracts hummingbirds, grows fast, and has unique flowers (that look like lanterns) up till frost. This plant could be used as an ornamental or be a great addition to a perrenial border.

Pruning should be done in late winter. If you want the plant to have a bushy form, you can prune as much as 40 percent the size.

Sometimes, spider mites or leggy growth can be a problem. You may have an allergic reaction or irritated skin if you touch the plant.
