What to look for: This design gallery shows colorful borders from various gardens around North Carolina. Shade borders do not have to be dull, think about using plants with yellow or chartreuse tones to brighten up dark corners of the yard. The silver border accents a stone walkway purely using plants with silver foliage for its color palette to striking effect. Most of these plants are also highly drought-tolerant.
