Frida Kahlo™ Rose Rosa 'WEKcifrabaun'

Phonetic Spelling
RO-zuh
Description

Frida Kahlo™ Rose is named after the Mexican artist by that name.  Her paintings often included flowers for which she stated "I paint flowers so they will not die."  The Frida Kahlo™ Rose boasts large scarlet flowers with pink overtones and gold centers that intensifys as the flowers age.  Clusters of 5 to 6 roses makes for a beautiful addition to your garden.  Their fragrance is a mild fruity scent.

Frida Kahlo™ will grow in part shade, but for the best performance and flowering, full sun is needed.  Plant at ground level, using caution as to not bury the crown.  Maintenance and upkeep are occasionally required.  In the late winter, after the threat of extreme cold has passed, is the optimum time for pruning.  Prune to maintain the plant's shape as well as to increase its branching.  A layer of mulch through the winter will benefit the plant, however, remove the mulch in the spring.

This long-lived rose can be placed at the front of a bed as it tends to fill out to the ground.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  Relatively disease free.  Water early in the day in order to avoid overnight wet conditions that may cause fungus and disease issues.  This rose cannot tolerate standing water.
