Champlain Rosa 'Champlain'

Phonetic Spelling
RO-zuh
Description

Rosa 'Champlain' is a compact variety that will provide fragrant blooms from late spring to early frost.  It will show its best flowering when planted in full sun as well as heightened disease resistance.  This thorny, deciduous shrub should be watered in the morning hours, avoiding overhead watering.  Watering from the base of the plant, rather than from overhead, will help avoid leaf diseases by providing proper air circulation.  Water deeply and regularly.

A layer of mulch surrounding the plant will help keep weeds in check as well as retaining moisture.  Fall clean up is recommended, removing fallen leaves and spent blooms.  Pruning can be accomplished at the same time.

Insects, Diseases and Other Plant Problems:  Caution should be taken when handling or pruning this plant due to the abundant thorns.
