Rosa 'AUSlilac'

Common Name(s):

Phonetic Spelling
RO-zuh
Description

Rosa 'AUSlilac' is a thorny, upright shrub with a bushy habit., reaching heights and widths of 2' to 4'.  It boasts large, fragrant, double pink flowers with a touch of lilac.  It can be grown in full sun or part shade, however, the best flowering will occur in full sun.  Water deeply on a regular basis while avoiding overhead watering.

As with most roses, good air circulation is key to a disease-free, healthy plant.  Pruning to remove dead branches or crossed branches will ensure that air circulation is achieved.  Pruning is best accomplished in late winter to early spring.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  Insect issues may include spider mites, aphids, beetles, borers, scale and thrips.  Diseases that can be encountered are black spot, powdery mildew, rust and rose rosette.
