Description

Rosa AUSbloom has dark red flowers with an old rose fragrance, thus the common name, The Dark Lady. which is named after the Dark Lady in Shakespeare's sonnets.  The medium-sized flowers typically have over 41 petals, but specimens have produced up to 140 petals.  Blooms appear in small clusters and contain mostly solitary flowers.  Its buds are long and pointed.   This free flowering shrub with a bushy, spreading habit has dark-green foliage with 5 leaflets.  Thorns are present.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  These plants are frequently damaged by deer.  Somewhat disease-prone, rose black spot, powdery mildew and rose rust.  Providing good air circulation will help to prevent diseases.  Insects include spider mite, rose leaf-rolling sawfly, scale insects and aphids.
