Small and upright, this plant is good in cutting gardens, native gardens and naturalized areas. It is native to the southern Appalachian Mountains. The flowers are in fluffy terminal spikes, while the leaves are narrow and grass-like. Prefers well-drained soil and tolerates high heat and humidity. This plant is not resistant to damage by deer.
