This tree features both edible and ornamental functions. It bears sweet, medium-sized fruit which can persists into winter. The fruit also serves as an ornamental feature in the winter. The great fall color is an attraction as well.

Flower:
The female flowers have a creamy yellow color and tend to grow singly, while male flowers have a pink tint and tend to appear in threes. The flowers have four crown-shaped sepals and four petals. It blooms from May to June.

Edibility:
It produces medium-sized, square-shaped, faintly 4-sided red fruit that ripens in late fall. This non-astringent fruit has a deep-orange skin and a light orange flesh. It is sweet, soft and tangy. Firm when ripens. It is a self-fruitful cultivar.
