Carex laxiculmus 'Bunny Blue'

Common Name(s):

Previously known as:

  • Carex laxiculmis 'Hobb'
  • Carex laxiculmis 'Hobb' BUNNY BLUE
Description

Creeping sedge is a native semi-evergreen to evergreen sedge that performs well in part shade to shade in medium to wet sites. It is found in moist wet woods in the eastern USA. It grows to 1 foot high and about as wide. Even though it is evergreen it will perform best if cut down in late winter.

Plant in average soil that has been amended with organic matter. The more sun it gets the more water it needs. It will slowly form a clumping ground cover for shady to part shady areas. It looks great planted along walkways, between paving stones or in a shady border.

Pest, Disease, Problems: No major insect or disease issues.
