Description

Rhamnella franguloides is a deciduous tree growing to 20 - 25 feet. It is in flower from May to June, and the fruit (seeds) ripens from August to October. The fruit changes color as it ripens to a dark purple/black when it is fully ripe. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs). It has show-stopping, clear gold fall leaf color. It grows in a range of soil types.
