Chrysojasminum parkeri

Previously known as:

  • Jasminum parkeri
Phonetic Spelling
kris-OG-uh-num Pahr-kur-iy
Description

This jasmine is a dwarf variety in the Oleaceae family native to the western Himalayas reaching 1 foot high by 2.5 feet wide.  The shrub grows as a mound of slender spreading stems in a range of soil conditions, though it prefers well-drained areas. It will tolerate full sun to partial shade.  The compact, compound pinnate leaves of 3 to 5 leaflets are dark green and deciduous.  Jasminum parkeri blooms in early summer with small (under 1 inch) yellow flowers. These are trumpet-shaped with 5 petals. It is not Winter hardy in colder climates, so it is limited to zones 9 through 10.
