Drought and heat tolerant; a good fruiter with vivid red, 1/4" dia. berries.  One of the best hollys for screening, massing or grouping.  This shrub is moderately salt tolerant.

Wildlife Value:  Fruits are attractive to birds. Flowers attract bees.  Members of the genus Ilex support the following specialized bee: Colletes banksiThis plant is resistant to damage by deer.
