Susanna Wesley Garden, Lake Junaluska

Susanna Wesley Garden is a quiet place for prayer and meditation. It is located adjacent to the World Methodist Museum. the Garden has many perfect spots to enjoy views of the Lake and the mountains’ changing seasons.

Dr. Lee F. Tuttle, General Secretary of the World Methodist Council from 1960-1976 created the Susanna Wesley Garden to honor the mother of the founders of Methodism.  Susanna Wesley was a truly amazing and inspiring woman. She spoke English, Latin and Greek and gave birth to 19 children total, 9 of them however died as infants.

The small Herb Garden contains herbs Susanna Wesley would have used regularly as well as those in John Wesley’s book, Primitive Physick.
