Description

This brick retaining wall on High Rock Lake is planted with a variety of plants that enjoy good drainage. These plants were chosen because under a thin layer of soil the ground is a fast draining shale. An important job of this garden is to control water run off from the lawn and surrounding area.

There are mature pine and oaks that provide shade for part of the day but the brick wall faces south and west so the sun loving plants receive an adequate amount of light to keep them happy.
