PowWow® Wild Berry Coneflower is a compact, herbaceous perennial in the Asteraceae (daisy) family. This cultivar grows 1 to 2 feet tall with showy rosy pink flowers that appear mid-summer and persist well into fall without the need to dead-head.
This plant prefers well-drained, moist loam but is adaptable to various soil types. It is drought tolerant once established and can grow in full sun to partial shade. It is easily propagated by seed and will reseed itself in the garden.
Several pollinators are attracted to the flower, especially butterflies. Leave some of the flower heads on to produce seeds for the birds. This is a popular and long-blooming plant that works well mass planted in a border, in a pollinator, cottage, or rock garden, and even in containers. The flowers can be enjoyed snipped from in a cutting garden fresh or dried and used in arrangments.
